A. Studies show return, if done properly, is the first thing people see.

Q. What phase should be done first?
A. What we call 'hardscape' should be done first - walks, walls, patios, and all of the irrigation and electrical work. Plantings should be last.

Q. What should we do about deer?
A. Plants that deer don't like include Boxwood, Andromeda, Barberry, Spruce, and Birch. Stay with those and you'll be fine.

Q. How can we plan for low maintenance?
A. Install small bed sizes, fill beds with plants (perennials where possible), mulch 3" thick, pick the right plant for sun exposure soil type and moisture.
